The UC San Diego Health System to Employ Use of NaviGate Critical Information Management System

NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH – March 19, 2012 – UC San Diego Health System has selected NaviGate by Lauren Innovations as a critical centerpiece in their operations and emergency management technology. Navigate provides both Security and Emergency Preparedness departments with a highly secure platform integrating Incident Management, Emergency Management, and Document Management, as well as Learning and Training.

Authorized personnel can access the system anytime; from anywhere through any device that is Internet capable. This technology also extends access to critical information to emergency planners and first responders in the event of a critical incident.

According to Raymond Osborne, Director of Security, Parking, Patient Transportation & Ambassador Services, UC San Diego Health System is using the Incident Management module within NaviGate as their primary dispatch source for creating, managing, tracking and reporting incidents within the health system. As the dispatch center receives a call, pertinent information about the incident is entered into the system, such as the location and incident type, and then is assigned to the nearest officer and dispatched. This functionality allows an officer to arrive at the scene of the incident fully informed and prepared. Integrated analytics and trending capabilities of NaviGate will allow leadership to develop strategies and make tactical decisions based on objective, real-time information. Additionally, the newly added Clery Reporting module will add a level of ease to all end-of-year reports.

The Resource Management functionality within NaviGate will allow UC San Diego Health System’s Emergency Preparedness Task Force to better manage their regional mobile emergency units. The resource management tools within NaviGate allow users to track critical resources such as generators, patient beds, medical supplies and equipment. A complete list of available inventory will aid in quick-response. Additionally, due to its secure role-based access, users are also able to provide local and federal emergency task force personnel login credentials for the NaviGate Emergency Management module. In the event of an emergency, first responders will have immediate access to the health system’s maps and floor plans, live camera links, emergency procedures and contingency plans.
